Winner of this race in 2005 and a consistent horse in the main although he did have a poor season last season. Carries top weight and looks to have it all to do today.
Tartak
Good consistent horse who should like the going. Did not sparkle on his first run of the season at Aintree but better is expected today.
Knowhere
Good horse who competes at the highest level regularly. 10th and 6th in last two Gold Cups. Good winner of the Letheby And Christopher Chase at this course last year.
Chapoturgeon
Festival winner of the Jewson Novices' Handicap Chase. Likes this course and right type of horse for the race has a good chance.
Poquelin
Good horse from the Paul Nicholls stable and should not be overlooked and is the stable jockeys selection. Good horse with wins at this course. He is another with a good chance.
Tatenen
Nice horse and a course winner. Young and could have improvement in him.
Tranquil Sea
Good Irish raider and although the Irish have not done so well in past years this horse looks the type to put that record right. He will love the ground today and has a good chance.
Northern Alliance
Another Irish raider with good form and will like the ground. A winner of the Kerry National and should run well.
Ballyfitz
Stable bang in form. A horse that runs well at this time of the year and is consistent. Must not be left out of any calculations.
Tarotino
Good consistent horse on a four timer. Stepping up in class and will have to improve but looks like he has the ability to step up.
Il Duce
Has run well below this class but looks to have plenty to do.
My Petra
Good horse but comes here on the back of two PU's best watched today.
Bible lord
Good run last time out but looks to have plenty on hid plate today.
